Turmeric golden milk recipe -

Loved this simple recipe. I used coconut sugar instead of syrup, added a splash of vanilla, dash of cinnamon to top it off.

Perfect before bed and with the weather changing 🤩 …So yummy! Absolutely delish and so simple to make. Thank you a ton!!

This recipe is absolutely amazing! Taste as good as the golden latte that I like to order at my favorite coffee shop.

So comforting and I love how quick and simple this is to make. Thank you SO much! Thank you for the lovely review and for sharing your preferred variation! Not a fan for ginger but added a bit of cardamom for flavour. So many recipes for Golden Milk but is one of the best!

Simple, quick and easy. Have also made up jar of dry ingredients as a mix—ready to use and so tasty. Made this golden milk today, yum! I did increase the milk to 2 Cups and I use sweetened, vanilla Almond milk.

Everything else was the same. I use 2 Cups so I can refrigerate half for the next day. I followed the recipe exactly and it was delicious! Will definitely try adding the cardamom next time. beautiful recipe. i teach ayurveda a bit and the addition of 5 or 6 cardamom seeds ands so much — a great sleep tonic — great for digestion and lovely to sweetenwith a date or two then blend it and it gets super frothy.

LOVE golden milk. Thanks for this vegan option. Oh so good! Comforting as a big thick knit blanket. Will be making often. Thank you for a wonderful recipe! I am able to drink oat milk, shall I substitute the oat for almond milk or just use all coconut milk? And the Golden Milk martini is born!

I let it cool stove top and added some ice cubes to speed it along. Poured it into shaker with St Lucian spiced rum and topped with cinnamon and nutmeg!! Healthiest martini ever and tasted delicious!! I make this for my mother who suffers from rheumatoid arthritis in her hands.

I also add in some nutmeg and cardamom to give it a yummy taste! I use a slow juicer and juice fresh, organic ginger. I use lite coconut milk canned as to reduce fat content.

Lite coconut milk still has enough fat to help absorb the nutrients! I also use a turmeric powder with the curcumin in it. I make a concentrate and she adds two tablespoons of the concentrate to a cup of almond milk.

I made this recipe and added some moonmilk, because I read it has good health benefits and it is vegan. Totally blew me away. Also added a dash of vanilla extract and for the sweetener used 1TBS of agave. Topped mine off with a little extra sprinkle of cinnamon! Will definitely be making this again, even my one year old likes it!

I used full fat coconut milk and vanilla milkadamia in lieu of the oil and added sweetener. It was so good! This was really delicious and perfectly sweet! And found it just spicy enough with all the other ingredients.

Thanks so much for the lovely review, Amanda! This was absolutely amazing! I used full fat coconut milk and oat milk. Thank you for sharing your recipe!! I made this for my elderly neighbor who just had rotator cuff shoulder and is experiencing inflammation.

Because of the higher level of fat in coconut milk, I skipped coconut milk. I only sampled a little of it since I wanted my neighbor to have the full supply, but from what I tasted it was delicious.

Thank you so much for the recipe! Aw, we love this! Thanks so much for the lovely review and for sharing your modifications, Shirley! We hope your neighbor enjoyed!

Would you mind sharing what you disliked about it? Did you use fresh or ground ginger? Whole cinnamon stick or ground? Thanks for always coming thru with delicious and accessible recipes!

Hope this helps! I love this recipe, but each time I make it the coconut oil separates and forms a layer on top of the milk : any suggestions? You can leave out the coconut oil or use a milk frother. This was yummy! I used vanilla almond milk and sweetened it with honey.

Tastes a little like Chai tea to me : Thanks for sharing the recipe. I used both honey and a touch of stevia. This has forever changed my mind. So good! Absolutely incredible. The coconut oil was a beautiful touch. Fantastic beverage to drink and read the comments section of this recipe ;.

I just made it for the very first time! It is delicious and nutritious! I love it! I will definitely make it again and will share it to my family and friends! Thank you for sharing this recipe! This was a very easy milk to make! Did not need to add anything! If it is still good, this will be my go-to-work-with-me drink a few times a week!

Thanks for the inspiration! Mine was a bit gritty. Is that normal? What type of milk s did you use? The number of ads on these food blogs should be actually illegal.

Hi Paulo, Thanks for the feedback and sorry for any inconvenience. We always try to optimize for user experience, while also having ads to keep the content free.

This is delicious!! I wanted to use fresh ginger but last minute realized I was out — I have to say it is spectacular with ground! I did use full fat canned coconut milk because that was what I had in the pantry and it was great although probably more filling. Just discovered in a magazine and wanted to see other variations.

Version I used 1 c. Microwave 45 sec. Add stevia to taste! sooooo good! I just made this for the first time and I am very happy with the outcome.. smooth and silky with the perfect balance of tumeric and ginger. I LOVE coconut milk, oil, anything coconut so if you do as well then this recipe is for you.

Although the coconut flavor is not too strong, you can taste it under the layers of flavors which I love. I am sure it would taste amazing with any kind of milk.

I added a tablespoon of maple syrup as the writer suggested a subtle sweetness is desired and it is exactly that, subtle, which allows the other flavors to come to the foreground as well.

I will definitely be making this again— thank you! This was my first time making golden milk. I followed the recipe even though coconut it my least favorite thing to consume.

It was pretty horrible. I went back and added a ton of cinnamon and more honey. It help slightly, but I did like honey almost as much as I dislike coconut. The taste was slightly worse with the extra honey. Then I did the unthinkable added plane old granulated sugar.

I was able to get it drinkable. I may add a pumpkin pie spice. You can use another milk such as cashew, almond, or oat. I made this WITH THE COCONUT OIL and it was incredible. Thank you for such a simple healthy recipe.

It is extremely high in saturated fat, moreso than butter. Coconuts can be a great part of a balanced diet, but separating the healthy stuff from the coconut and using only the fat is just as unhealthy as separating the fat from milk or from an animal and only using that.

Try to opt for healthier oils in cooking such as olive and canola. With all due social respect for your claim to education: you are wrong. I could school you on all of this but already school my own doc. It is not like anyone is going to sit down to a plate of coconut oil.

Medical doctors do NOT know everything. The difference is that olive oil and canola oil are high in monounsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids and low in saturated fat which research has shown is better for cardiovascular health. All of these plants are healthier consumed whole, but when you need to use an oil, opt for those that are higher in monounsaturated fats and omega-3 and lower in saturated fat.

I was not implying that doctors know everything. But most doctors do know more about health and nutrition than the average person. Of course, if you are aware of the health implications and continue to eat it because you love the taste, that is an individual choice.

Personally I would want to know if something was harmful for my health before I make decisions about eating it. Thanks Monika I agree with everything you are saying. Also to the writer who says she has been eating coconut oil for years and is healthy, that is like saying a person has been smoking for years and does not have lung cancer yet, so smoking is healthy.

The med. Hi Patricia. Please think carefully before commenting. No oil is healthy, but some are less fatty than others. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. But have you ever met someone who has smoked for most of their life and lived a longer age than average?

I have. So please think carefully before making such crude comments. Thank you for pointing this out. Fat is an important part of our diets, and so is the type of fat we are ingesting. Obviously most of our fats intake should be coming from fats that are not solid at room temperature, like olive oil.

I make this recipe almost once a week. I usually only have one kind of non-dairy milk open at a time I find it hard to use a lot of milk since I only have myself to cook for and always use whatevers on hand. Delicious every time! Thanks for sharing your variations!

We like freezing any extra dairy-free milk in ice cube trays to keep it fresh for longer. For the sweetener I used organic raw honey to further this incredible recipes already nicely rounded health benefits. Just made it as a monday midday lift me up.

It tastes sooo nice :D Thank you for the recipe. I used one can of evaporated coconut milk and equal amount of water. Used whatever turmeric I had already ground, much larger amounts of ginger, cinnamon and maple syrup. Subbed pepper with a few swipes of fresh nutmeg. Added a bit of vanilla.

I like it. My husband says it tastes like warm curry. Non-dairy milk options include almond milk, cashew milk, pecan, and oat milk. Coconut milk not the canned kind, but this recipe is another option that adds some healthy fats. Bone broth is another great option for the base and you can omit the sweetener if you use broth.

Feeling really brave? Try using camel milk instead! Like this recipe? Check out my new cookbook , or get all my recipes over !

in a personalized weekly meal planner here! In a stainless steel pan, combine water, turmeric, and black pepper. It should make a thick paste. Cook and stir for 7 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add coconut oil, using a whisk to fully mix in the coconut oil.

Transfer to a glass jar with a lid and store in the refrigerator. To use, whisk 1 teaspoon of Golden Paste into 2 cups of warmed milk of choice. Add molasses, vanilla extract, and cinnamon to taste.

I created this list of commonly asked questions to address the most asked ones:. I order turmeric in bulk because I use it in many spice blends, beauty recipes , and this golden milk.

The brand will often specify a percentage. For an even more convenient option, one of my favorite brands, Organifi, makes a delicious ready-made turmeric drink mix.

The black pepper is important here since it has piperine, a compound known to increase the benefits of turmeric. Of course. You can also use blood sugar-friendly stevia or nutrient-rich blackstrap molasses to get the benefits.

But this is the tastiest in my opinion. For instance, throw some turmeric, black pepper, and olive oil on some roasted veggies to accomplish the same thing.

I always recommend talking with a doctor before consuming any natural remedy. Turmeric can interact with certain medicines. Talk to someone who knows your situation before making a decision.

I give small amounts to my kids. Turmeric is a spice after all! They love the taste and love to help make it. But check with your pediatrician if you have any questions or concerns before drinking this. I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that it will take some time. I find I enjoy it cold too, but you can also reheat it in a small saucepan. This turmeric lemonade is another delicious version to have on hand. To use fresh, grate a 1-inch piece of fresh turmeric root into the recipe.

This accomplishes the same thing. This warmed me up and is just a perfect drink to wind down the day. Thank you for the recipe! Thank you for the lovely review and for sharing your modifications! Really tasty! Tried this hot, mixed with almond milk and it was really good.

Made this originally for the golden milk granola recipe and that was really tasty as well! This recipe is a keeper! The warm golden milk is so delicious.

I made it as written in the recipe and used unsweetened soy milk. So yummy in a hot drink! I make my golden milk with coconut milk and pop a button of raw cacao butter in each cup to make it nice and creamy. A perfect winter warmer for the cooler weather we are coming into here in Australia.

I also love it in your golden milk snack bites! Thank you xxx. This mix is my new weakness! I substituted with homemade almond milk which is sweetened with a few figs. I also add maple syrup for those who like a little more sweetness.

Question: To me, fresh and powdered turmeric taste different. Which Is your recipe based on? In your video I think I see fresh? How would quantities differ and how would you store if using freshly grated turmeric?

Hi Rima, we prefer ground turmeric! If using fresh, the mix will only last a few days. LOVE this recipe — simple and delicious! Added extra cinnamon. I put this into 4oz mason jars with recipe on a tag- perfect gift. Then I simply pour the heated milk over the dissolved powder mixture this is how I make my matcha lattes too.

How many ounces does this make? Asking so I know what size jar to get. Thinking of making some for teacher gifts. This has become my before bedtime hot drink.

so thank you for the mix recipe as I was getting tired of mixing it all every night. Also added the suggested add-ins. This is AWESOME!!!

I want to make this a daily staple! Turmeric is usually a BIG no no for me because it gives me heartburn, but in this recipe, it made me actually LIKE turmeric… Delicious. I did 2 tsp of maple syrup to offset the spiciness and I used Vietnamese cinnamon I also included the listed optional ingredients.

I made it with oat milk and will try coconut milk next time. Definitely a keeper! Thank you!!! This is so fabulous! But this recipe was super easy to follow and had very tasty results!!

I made it with almond milk and maple syrup :. I have attempted to make this in the past but never turned out. Just made this and did the iced version, very refreshing and great taste.

So excited to have this and make on the regular. Thanks again for another great recipe! I discovered golden milk not long ago and I love it.

This is pretty nice! Ive been so curious about this drink for a while now but never got around to make it. It just came across my instagram feed and I happened to have all the ingredients.

I made it cold and we really like it! Toddler included! Thanks You! Perfect golden milk mix! All ways turned out delicious! I keep a big jar of the mix ready to go in my pantry when I need a pick-me-up.

I added the nutmeg from the suggestions and it tastes like fall in a cup. Highly recommend! Surprised I loved it so much and can make it at home. I enjoy it cold with ice cubes. Will try it hot when the weather is cooler.

Hope to make this a regular habit. I would triple the recipe. Thank you for the recipe Hi Alison, Hard to know for sure what is effective, but the spices in this mix are known for their immune-supportive properties.

Let us know how it goes! This was absolutely delicious! I had never had golden milk before and you made it simple and straightforward. I added the clove but not the nutmeg, and used So Delicious coconut milk.

Do you think it would be ok to strain it before drinking spices settled in the bottom , or would you lose some of the health benefits? Thank you Dana! This mix makes such a yummy drink.

I just mixed some up and added both the clove and nutmeg add-ins. I used cashew milk and 1 teaspoon of coconut oil along with the heaping teaspoon of golden milk mix.

I adore this mix! I include more ginger and a tsp. of cardamom, because cardamom. So wonderful. Aside from almond milk and various dishes, I like to add it to my cinnamon tea, which runs a little weak for my taste in the big mug I use, so the Golden Mix really punches up the flavor and gives me that comforting warmth I need by mid-afternoon.

Thanks for this super easy and delicious go-to! Doubling the recipe? It will NOT linger on my shelf. I love the idea of adding Cardamom! My golden milk tasted great; however, the cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves kept separating from the drink and floating to the top, so I had to keep trying to stir it in every few seconds.

Any tips to avoid separation? Hi Celine, Did you mix the spices with hot water first before adding the milk? Some separation is normal, so it is best to give it an occasional stir throughout drinking.
